Pastor LeRoy Hill, Jr.Reverend LeRoy Hill, Jr. is a resident Suffolk, VA. He is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Virginia. Reverend Hill attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from the Langston University in 1986 and his Master of Divinity degree with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1991.

Prior to being called to the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Reverend Hill guided many lives through his ministry to two faithful congregations: True Vine Independent Baptist Church Northeast and Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. He also worked for the Oklahoma City Public School District as a teacher, coach, central office administrator and as an assistant principal. Reverend Hill taught Preaching, Old Testament, Minor Prophets, and Church History, as an adjunct professor at the American Christian College and Seminary, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He also taught Christian Ethics and Biblical Interpretation at the Bethesda Baptist Bible Institute, a satellite campus for the Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Oklahoma. His memberships and affiliations included Member of Executive Council, Oklahoma Men of Integrity, a Task Force for Promise Keepers; Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Oklahoma State Board of Directors; Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society; National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); Opportunities Industrialization Center of Oklahoma County; the United States Army Reserve and National Guard; and many denominational positions and organizations.

Since his arrival to Hampton Roads, Pastor Hill has continued to serve in the community. He is an advocate for health awareness and effective education. He currently volunteers with the American Cancer Society, serving on the Clergy Leadership Council and is co-chair of the African American Men’s Health Forum 2007-2008. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Angelos Bible College. In October 2006, Pastor Hill traveled to Guyana, South America and served as a missionary through the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Missions Convention, serving a three year term in the Pastoral Excellence Program. He served as a missionary in Kingston, Jamaica, in October 2007 and is scheduled to serve in Zimbabwe, South Africa, in October 2008. Pastor Hill has a passion for serving God’s people through preaching and teaching the gospel of the kingdom, and equipping the saints for kingdom service.

Pastor Hill is married to the beautiful and lovely Chanda Hill, and is the father of three children--Rachelle, Tre’ and Zsai. Pastor Hill enjoys spending time with his family, reading, studying the Bible and related literature, collecting books, sports, youth, learning from seniors, meeting people and traveling. Pastor Hill continues his efforts toward bringing God to the forefront in all areas of life through inspirational speaking, facilitating various seminars and workshops, and cultivating economic development strategies for the glory of God and the good of all people.
